About this deal

Bliss on Toast is as much a toolkit for quick fridge-raids as it is inspiration for seasonal delights. It worked out well as a free book, but I don't think the content is worth purchasing it and finding a spot for it on your cookbook shelf. As a child I'd toast bread or an English muffin, top it with tomato slices and cheddar cheese, and pop it under the broiler. an extraordinary and highly recommended addition to personal, professional, and community library cookbook collections.

Of course if you have any great ideas or recipes please share them……we might be able to produce the book a lot sooner! For this book, along with the titles and lovely photos, there are written, easy to follow instructions. And if you top it with a few cleverly paired ingredients, it can be a full meal, not to mention pure bliss. I was hoping for some simpler recipes, meaning everyday ingredients, but there are some good recipes in there! To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

It is filled with interesting recipes for sandwiches, most of which are open-faced (hence the "on toast" title). The idea has gradually expanded to include desserts on toast too, like fried bananas, brandy and ice cream.

With easily swapped components, the sky's the limit for creating these elevated, simple-to-build, open-faced eats.

The photographs are lovely, and some of the combinations are intriguing, but this could just as easily have been a list. The head notes to each recipe are delivered in Leith's cheery and charming voice, tips regarding ingredient substitutions are included, and a bevy of excellent color photographs provide a preview of what to expect. In Bliss on Toast , Great British Baking Show judge Prue Leith toasts sourdoughs, focaccias, baguettes, flatbreads and more, then pairs them with everything from seasonal vegetables to meat and fish. These 75 recipes for things on toast will help you make quick, delicious and versatile meals year-round – for working–from-home lunches and cosy Sunday suppers, to light bites, indulgent treats or impressive canapés. As a Dagwood always looking for delicious new sandwich ideas, I thoroughly enjoyed this little book.just about ANYTHING on toast is delicious but some of these concoctions are exactly what I need for those days when I don't want the same old turkey sandwich or grilled cheese. Bliss on Toast is as much a toolkit for quick fridge-raids as it is inspiration for seasonal delights. Just enough cooking to make you feel you are making something special, but never enough to complicate the simplicity of warm, crusty toast.

There is a photo for every recipe, and really many of these are just stacking ideas - the amount of actual cooking involved generally is pretty minimal. But many of the recipes do look and sound great, and they also use pantry and fridge ingredients that most of us, perhaps those of us who cook a lot, that is, will have on hand.If you enjoy ruining perfectly delicious breads with terrible toppings, go crazy, but I am out of here! These 75 recipes for things on toast will help you make quick, delicious and versatile meals year-round - for working-from-home lunches and cosy Sunday suppers, to light bites, indulgent treats or impressive canapés. Known for revolutionising food and restaurants in London early in her career, she is now a judge on The Great British Bake Off, presented Prue's Great Garden plot and co-hosted Clever Cook, Waste Less. And because even fanatical cooks like me get sick of cooking sometimes, beans on toast seems a great option, or just making toast toppings out of what’s in the fridge. If parents are packing up their kids to take them for university pop a copy of Bliss on Toast in their bag and you won't go wrong.
