About this deal

One of the reasons I was so productive was I had extrinsic motivation – I would never get promoted if I didn’t complete my projects. I even took a day to get some content lined up for various places knowing that I still need to show up even when I’m busy and even if I’m absolutely mullered after a day of pushing myself to my physical limits. Apart from drawing a time boundary, I also use two laptops throughout the day — one for personal projects, one for office work.

Some work (like writing this blog post) you may do because of intrinsic motivation; you enjoy the process.Take one, act on it and build up your days and weeks with the habits and routines that lead to success. You accept your fate and live your life with a body you hate, relationships that are nonexistant, a bank balance that makes you nauseous every time you check it and a mind that tells you that even if you want to change you can’t anyway because good things don’t happen to people like you.

For four weeks, we’re going to work together and prove that it is possible to get a lot of shit done and have a life at the same time, while really put some sustainable strategies into place for the long term as well.Have you noticed people who only talk about dreams and hopes, and what they'll one day achieve, while they're still stuck at their jobs? Personally I'm not the biggest fan of deep breathing, given it works a lot of the time it's not my strong point. Things 3 has an excellent way of grouping tasks in the day and tasks for the evening, like this: Things 3 shows up tasks scheduled for the day vs for the evening. According to attention restoration theory, people can concentrate better after time spent in nature.

And because I know there’s a LOT of information packed into this episode, I’ve also published it as a blog post so you can go back to it whenever you need to. Break them into the tiniest things you can do, and give yourself the grace and patience you need to get through them! The idea is that for five minutes, you do nothing but ask for support and for help - to the point that it becomes almost embarrassing. It might seem strange, but I’d also say that surfing has played a significant role in strengthening my attention span. Half to do list, half notebook, your Get Shit Done is small enough to take with you wherever you go.Instead of feeling like an anomaly, you start feeling like you’re part of a movement, part of something bigger and the courage of the people around you is always infectious. What gets measured gets managed and you might get people measuring face time at the expensive of work that actually matters. In this post, I’ll be talking about the process I follow to keep myself productive, and get things done, every single day. Before starting on any task in the morning, I pick out some tasks that I would like to do in the evening, and reschedule them like this: Scheduling tasks for evening in Things 3.
