About this deal

Anya's book is just that, so much wisdom, authenticity and above all kindness, which in itself is a lesson to be learnt to apply to all situations. I feel that Anya has not only given out very valuable lessons and tips and tricks when it comes to being a parent who's also working but in general as well. In addition, she has set a wonderful model for building a warm, inclusive but professional business culture.

Russell Foster, Professor of Circadian Neuroscience at Oxford University said that "when people are very sleep-deprived they can only lay down negative memories in their long-term memory. And it’s with this honest and open approach that she goes on to detail her battles with anxiety and her life spent building a business. I really enjoyed the first 80-odd pages of the book, and found myself thinking 'this author is a Wise Person'. True, authentic behaviour – the patchwork of thousands of tiny experiences and moods and conversations and reactions – is much more important than clever taglines and catchy campaigns. I don't think it's a coincidence that you can't pick up your phone when your hands are covered in dough or clay, or busy weaving. From practical tips and quick fixes, to profound observations about confidence and creativity, this inspiring handbook will show you how to live a little better – and why sometimes, the answer can be as simple as washing your hair. All of our products are delivered in our signature Anya Hindmarch eco-packaging and a signature will be required upon receipt of all deliveries.

Then the tap turned off, making Occasionwear and being so tied to events you can image our target market was pulled from under our feet. There is little psychological underpinning for the tips in this book, and aside from a bit of NLP, she doesn’t align her advice to any particular theory. Something I would like to take forward for work/projects etc is approach each morning as if it's your first day. I loved it all and the experience left me feeling inspired and energised, and I was pretty happy with me new hair too. Ring the bell when it goes well, crack open a nice bottle when you've achieved something wonderful, be sad but resilient when you haven't.If you don't take care of yourself first then you won't be able to give your full potential to others including your children. Partly because she is modest about her successes, open about her difficulties and generous about her husband and the team who support her. I wasn't familiar with the author before I picked up this book, but have since learnt that she is a successful entrepreneur within the fashion industry. Also reshaping creativity as problem solving, we often label ourselves as uncreative because we aren't naturally 'arty' but creativity is far broader than imagery, it's imagining something differently. This is an autobiography/memoir (not sure) which also of course acts like a rather unusually helpful self-help book.

If it's fun and something you enjoy but doesn't have a market (won't bring in money) then it's a hobby not a business. An advocate of British design and arts Anya is NED of the British Fashion Council, and Emeritus Trustee of the Royal Academy of Arts and the Design Museum. There’s no trauma, grief or suicide here, just Anya’s common sense advice on how to live a more fulfilling life. From practical tips and quick fixes to profound observations about confidence and creativity, this inspiring handbook will show you how to live a little better - and why sometimes, the answer can be as simple as washing your hair.Entrepreneurs are more doers than reading through tons of small print (hat's what you hire lawyers etc for). We work closely with publishers and authors to ensure that we offer the best books on the market for your child. Some of Anya's story could be pepped up with more actual real-life what she really went through narrative (a fair amount of the text is written in a remote 'remember to' or 'should do' manner, where, if she regaled me with the actual experiences I would be so much more interested). I guess that’s something very real to most who have been feeling languished in recent years (yes, it’s been that long). The book “If in doubt, wash your hair ” is a memoir by Anya Hindmarch, a globally renowned entrepreneur, the founder of an award winning global brand known for it’s craftmanship and creativity, a mother of five and also a step mother.
